STATE OF THE SCHOOL ADDRESS
SY 2017-2018 Delivered by: DR. ROSEMARIE N. PANUELOS To officials headed by Mr. Randy A. Lasala, energetic teachers, parents, alumni, students, friends and guests, good morning. I am very much overwhelmed of your presence today as I am about to present the State of the School Address (SOSA) of San Isidro National High School. By the way, I want to hear again a round of applause for Mr. Randy A. Lasala who has presented the accomplishment of PTA for the School Year 2017-2018 at the same manner with Mrs. Merly S. Cabauatan who has presented the Financial Report for the same school year. The school is also fortunate to have very supportive parents and PTA officials who also work hand in hand with the school especially in the implementation of school programs and projects. Though your efforts and initiative, we were able to repair some classrooms, we were able to actively participate in the Civic and Military Parade in Libmanan and Penafrancia Festival etc. For SY 2017-2018, participation of the PTA, meetings and conferences reached 70% both for general PTA meetings and the Homeroom PTA gatherings. I hope your continuous support and effort for your students and school will always be firm for the coming years. At this moment, allow me to present to you the Dep-Ed Updates. I will discuss first the DepEd Memo about Child Protection Policy or the DepEd Order No. 40 series of 2020. Dear parents, I just want to ask you, how do you understand the meaning of Child Friendly School?. Because, I know that as a parent, I want also to send my child or student to a child friendly school, right?. This means that “all teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents and other stakeholders must have a good relationship in dealing with the problems to the students. We all want the student to be surrounded by the people who will help him grow and foster, then at the end of the day they will become an agent of the society. In response to this aspect, I want to inform you that that we have School – based In-service Trainings conducted every year being attended by teachers. Some topics are being discussed here especially concerning the role of teacher in school. Another, I highlight, as the school principal of this institution ‘Positive criticism and encouragement must always be observed” in dealing with the students, teachers and school staff. Piece of advice to the parents, we should always know the condition and behavior of our students specially in their academic performance, because it might give you an idea on the root causes why they commit absenteeism, violence in some way and failing grades. So, what should we do? Try to ask your students; maybe it could help them tell you their problems. After knowing the problems of the students, it is now the time that you give your positive criticism and words of encouragement. Moreover, after this meeting, please see the advisers of your students so that you can ask them regarding their behavior in school and their academic performance. Also, to all advisers, please address your concerns to the parents concerning the challenges of the students in academic aspect. We strengthen the implementation of this policy which is primarily aligns to the the statement that; The Department of Education shall ensure that schools are safe place for the education of children. The SINHS is doing its very best with your help parents to give our students safe place or school because of the following reasons; (a) it allows the children look forward to being in an encouraging environment that promotes social and creative learning, (b) if this won’t be met, children will feel at risk for not feeling comfortable at school and may stop showing up, or they may remain on edge throughout the day. Next, these issues are very common in their age such as Discrimination, bullying and exploitation that occur in unexpected places. First, what is Discrimination?, it refers to unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age and sex. Bullying, it means seek to harm, intimidate or coerce someone. Last, exploitation, which mean an action or fact of treating someone unfairly in order to benefit from their work. If ever it happens in school, we have the adviser and guidance counselor give the first action to this problems grounded by the code of conduct. For my own perspective, Discrimination must always have a positive approach and it must be avoided specially in dealing with students. Parts also of their lessons are about these issues wherein teachers give lessons that will lessen these scenarios in school. We encourage students to be morally righteous on dealing with their classmates and teachers so that everyone will be learning harmoniously. Furthermore, bullying and exploitation has a corresponding punishment to all teachers or non-teaching personnel who will commit it. One ingredient or moral act that we should live with is “RESPECT” because respecting one another will give a good working environment inside the school. Also, it is very much important to always think the “Name, Dignity and Retirement”. “When we work together, we can achieve great things” Thank you and Dios Mabalos sato gabos. |
